You Were Framed!
It started with a simple idea: carry a picture frame everywhere you go and see what happens. For one year, I did exactly that — bringing a wooden frame to parks, restaurants, street corners, festivals, public spaces, and quiet sidewalks, holding it up and inviting whoever was nearby to step inside.
Some people laughed. Some hesitated. Many said yes. Strangers who had never met each other suddenly shared something — a moment of play, a willingness to be seen. And more than once, curious onlookers who had stopped to watch couldn't help themselves — they asked to be included too, turning an impromptu portrait into a small, joyful crowd. The frame became a conversation starter, a permission slip, a small act of theater in the middle of ordinary life.
What emerged was an unexpected portrait series: not of people who had been scheduled or styled, but of people who chose, in an unguarded moment, to become the subject. No names are attached to these images. The frame is the constant. The rest belongs to whoever stepped inside.
